Who We Are
We are Harris Heights!

Owned by Ashley and Adam Harris, Ashley operates the horse farm and Adam runs the family construction company. Ashley is a native of Lexington, Kentucky, and grew up with the best horse farms, trainers, and shows right in her area. When she was 6 years old, Ashley attended a Midway College riding camp and fell in love with riding. After many years of regular lessons and competing in Hunter Jumpers in Kentucky and Indiana, her family relocated to Virginia, where Ashley was once again surrounded by high-quality competitive shows and top-notch trainers. She was trained by the best and she also began to train and teach in Hunter Jumper and Dressage. Ashley made a move to Mississippi while in college, and she managed and trained at three other horse farms before opening Harris Heights in 2005.

During the season, Ashley enjoys foxhunting on her big 16.3 hh Thoroughbred, “Flash,” and has even ridden a reining horse lately. She is well-versed in all horse disciplines and responds to the interests of her students. Ashley says, “I remember growing up with the most expensive (and usually the best) horses out of reach. I rode other peoples horses any chance I got and often had the ride the ‘bad’ ones. I worked hard for every opportunity to ride and I want my barn to be open to anyone with a love of horses, even if they think they cannot afford it. I keep lesson and boarding rates low and work very hard to turn inexpensive rescue horses and ponies into nice, affordable show mount for children.”
